Treat your favorite bookish friends with this cozy dark academia bridesmaid proposal gift box! It contains everything they need to set the mood as they get lost in a good book. With a scented candle in a literary theme, and a decorative glass bottle of white-tipped matches, this is a lovely way to make your proposal extra special!

You can choose to invite any member of your bridal party to be a part of your wedding day - simply choose the title you need from the menu. Your proposal question will be printed on a card beneath beautiful, vintage-style botanical artwork created by our resident artist, Sierra. If you need a title not listed here, just choose "custom message" from the menu and write your choice in the personalization box.

The gift boxes can be wrapped in simple black twine at no charge, or add a gift tag with their name written by hand on it for just a little more. If you choose to add a hand-lettered name tag, leave the names you need in the personalization box.

 

CANDLE SCENTS
(if you have a preference, enter your choice in the personalization box)

• rainy day reading - toasted marshmallow and soft woodsmoke of charred oak (sweet + smoky)

• library - old book pages in a worn leather armchair, a wood-burning fireplace, and a cup of coffee (musky + sophisticated)

• fireplace - woodsmoke of burning cedar and sandalwood, warm clove and amber (warm + smoky)

• oatmilk latte - strong coffee with creamy oatmilk, vanilla and caramel (sweet + rich)

• forest fog - just-rained scents of ozone, lavender and mint over soft green moss, mineral-rich earth, and a touch of juniper. (fresh, masculine)

 

Candle burn time and dimensions: 4 oz. candle, approximately 20-hour burn/2.5"W, 2.5"H. The gift boxes measure 4"x4"x3". Each bottle of matches contains 20 matches.


  • The first time you burn your new candle, let it burn until the wax melts all the way across the candle, around 2-3 hours. This will prevent tunneling (melting only down the center of the candle).
  • Trim the wick to 1/4 inch (break off the burned part) each time the candle is lit. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large and helps your candle to last longer. 
  • Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans, and any air currents. This will help your candle to last longer.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
  • Follow the 2-foot rule: don't place a burning candle near clothing, books, curtains or anything flammable.
  • Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time.

  • Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains in the container.
